 Installation tips For Spiral stairs
1) Cutting of the stair way
2) Drilling the three holes for the stair Installation

Q) How do I cut the hole in the 1st floor if the house is already assembled?

A) Dependant on where the stairs are positioned and the height of the house, it may not be possible to use a jig saw.

There are several methods that may be used

  1. A deep throat (300mm 12") fret saw is ideal and simple to use if the stair position allows. Drill a starter hole(s) in the stair position. The blade is removed from the saw, inserted in the starter hole and re-fitted into the saw. Commence the cut keeping square to the floor. These are less than £5 from good stores or my mail order from Amazon or eBay
  2. If the stair position is too deep for a fret saw then a simple Pad or keyhole saw is easy to use and low cost. - Drill a starter hole(s) into the corner(s) of the stair position to insert the fret saw. Ensure you keep the saw square to the floor and commence your cut. These are less than £5 and should be available at B&Q or any other good DIY store

It is an essential addition to your construction kit.
